Tofo Beach Cottages

Mozambique has become a popular holiday destination with local and international travellers over the years. Blessed with rich history and vibrant cultures, this diverse African country has a large coastline stretching some 2700km and is highly rated for its salt-water fly-fishing and game fishing. Guests to this amazing country are urged to leave their worries behind and enjoy a new world of excitement and adventure.

The laidback resort town of Praia de Tofu has always been popular with South African and Zimbabwean tourists, but has lately become a hotspot destination for international backpackers. This small beach town, which is home to a mere 40 houses, a hotel and other accommodation is renowned for its diverse and exciting water sports as well as its beach bars and dive schools. Visitors to this piece of paradise will enjoy the range of eateries on offer, enabling them to enjoy Mozambican cuisine at its finest.

Tofo Beach Cottages is the perfect residence during your Mozambican sojourn. Unpretentious and filled with charm, Tofo Beach Cottages is a stone's throw from the beach as well as all the convenient amenities of Praia de Tofu, allowing guests easy access to any thing they may need during their vacation.

Accommodation at Tofo Beach Cottages consists of:

Accommodation at Tofo Beach Cottages offers a selection of 7 self-catering cottages throughout the area of Tofo. Several of the units are adjacent to each other offering flexibility for larger groups. The cottages range in different sizes, sleeping between 4 and 8 people at a time, and offer self-catering facilities such as cutlery, crockery, bedding and furnishing.

Each of the cottages at Tofo Beach has its own butler, who is charged with making your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Functions that the friendly butlers perform include making the beds, doing dishes, sweeping floors, helping you buy fresh produce at the market, including fish, prawns and calamari, preparing food, and even guiding you through the town and offering advice as to places to visit. Due to Mozambique's recent smoking law amendments, guests are urged not to smoke in the units, as they are likely to face a hefty fine for transgressing this law.

Tofo Beach Cottages is close to a gorgeous beach, and the town of Praia de Tofu has an exciting array of water sports to enjoy. These include fishing, surfing and diving. Other options include bird watching, visiting some of the charming curio shops in the region or enjoying quad bikes and 4x4 trails.

"We could come a few days earlier and leave a day earlier without problems and this was great. The house was fine according to our expectations. The fact that we were a bit on the side, not exactly on the main Tofo beach with all its hustle and bustle felt good. The minisafe was also appreciated. Getting help in the house was also great - could have been more specified what he could help with. Raul was very friendly and serviceminded and we enjoyed having him around and comfortable leaving the house in his hands if we wanted to leave before he was finished cleaning. There could have been more space to put suitcases/clothes, and also a table inside as we did not always want to sit outside specially not in the evenings. There were two nice basketchairs but no table to use for eating, writing etc. 5 beds, but if we had been 5 it would have been even more complicated without table and chairs inside as well. Another thing we missed was the possibility of having/borrowing a parasol/sunshade that we could take with us to the beach. Coming from abroad its not easy to bring along and not everybody can be in the sun the whole time at the beach even though the beach is the main attraction. We enjoyed our stay very much and will gladly come back if we get the chance. greetings to all, Ulla-Gun "
